Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has published its February 2026 update to standards and guidelines, updating 2 existing documents. Please see the attached table for a list of updated documents.

Key Highlights

✅ Strategic Management (SMG):

• Updated standard PE-SMG-02002 Traffic Assessment for Pavement Design sets out a comprehensive, clear and unambiguous method that is bespoke to Ireland for calculating commercial vehicle traffic loading for pavement design.

✅ Structures (STR):

• Minor revision to DN-STR-03010 Portal and Cantilever Sign/Signal Gantries, clarifying guidance on the use of Table 4.1 - Modification factor of drag coefficients for rectangular plates. 

The documents were uploaded on the TII Publications website on 26 February 2026, and the effective date of these documents should be taken as 26 February 2026.
