Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has published its December 2025 update to standards and guidelines, introducing 7 new documents and updating 10 existing ones. - New standard on Aesthetics of Road Structures aiming to ensure aesthetics are appropriately considered throughout all phases of the life cycle of a project.
- Technical Acceptance of Road Structures now includes electricity pylons and has also been updated to align with the phases and deliverables as defined in the Project Management Guidelines.
✅ Standard Construction Details:
- Gantry Groups 8, 9, and 10 revised for greater consistency and reliability, reducing design variability.
✅ Environment:
- Biodiversity Metric documents published, paving the way for a Biodiversity Impact Assessment Standard in 2026.
- Air quality standards updated to meet EU Ambient Air Quality Directive (2024/2881).
- New Water Impact Assessment standards replace outdated hydrology guidance.
✅ Pricing Guidance:
- Greenway Schedule of Rates 2025 introduced to support accurate cost planning.
